Alex Trochut

This is the art of Alex Trochut, a featured artist on designporn.ca His illustrations are a heady mix of Hokusai and Si Scott.

His work is interesting in that he showcases his process for each project, e.g: http://www.alextrochut.com/#/works/arcade-fire. Most of his projects are type-based, but organic and unique. He also has a featured Zune original decal: http://www.alextrochut.com/#/works/zune-originals.

From the darkest depths of the deep

This is an amazing package from Kraken. Full of amazing things. Including a DVD of these brilliantly written and superbly narrated micro-films…and, amazingly, a bottle of their finest strong, rich, black and smooth stuff.

You've got to gape in awe at the Kraken brand; I have no idea how well sales are going but the dedication and commitment leveled at design and writing craft used to market the product is rare, brave and impressive.

KOZYDAN...THE ALLSTARS OF ILLUSTRATION

Meet some of the most talented illustrators to date, Kozy and Dan, but better known as Kozydan. They may be the coolest married couple on the planet and their collaborative efforts speak volumes. They are young, fierce, and insanely talented.

They describe themselves as "Los Angeles based mad scientists...working on a secret formula for controlled nuclear fusion, and are creating a line of edible chickens. For fun they like to take long deep breaths and dip their heads into bowls of raspberry jelly and lemon curd. They live indoors and don't paint on walls. The couple also moonlights as freelance illustrators." Clearly they are nothing short of funny.
